San Bernardino, California’s rural community of Devore was named for John A. Devore, vice president of Chicago’s Kenwood Assn., railroad uniform supplier. This book is replete with old photographs, memories, and historical research from the 1800s of the Southern Portal of Cajon Pass. The Devore Farm drew the elite from Pasadena to its parks for concerts until the 1938 flood rearranged the topography.
